A Complete Spectrum of Choices

Pioneer FiltersPioneer Filters are designed for superior performance, reliability, and maintenance ease.  Pioneer offers innovative choices:

Why Air Filters?

Contaminated compressed air damages equipment, limits production capacity, and lowers quality.

Problem Examples

  • Air logic, instruments used in manufacturing, and other precision-type air devices malfunction when dirt and oil block orifices.

  • Oil aerosols cause uneven painting, increased product rejection, false readings by coating sensors, and work stoppage

  • Acidic contaminants in compressed air cause slowdowns and shutdowns by damaging seals in cylinders, valves, and tools

  • Contaminated air causes rejection of food, pharmaceutical, and other products; affects performance; and damages air drying equipment.

Sources of Contaminants

Atmospheric air contains millions of particles of dust and pollutants. At 100 PSIG/6.9 BAR G, it takes 7.8 ft3/m3 of atmospheric air to produce 1.0 ft3/m3 of compressed air. Therefore, the concentration of contaminants is 7.8 times greater in compressed air than in atmospheric air.

Compressor lubricants: Higher compressor temperatures vaporize and burn compressor lubricants creating a hot, acidic, corrosive, and abrasive mixture.

Caution:

1.  A coalescer removes oil aerosols. To remove oil vapors, use the Pioneer Adsorber-Alert.

2.  A carbon filter is not very effective in removing oil vapors for more than a few hours because it contains a miniscule amount of carbon.
